Boise teen found hiding under train car spray painted with graffiti
BOISE — Boise Police made an early morning arrest of a teenager who was found hiding under a train car that had recently been spray painted with graffiti.
Just before 1 a.m., officers were called to a business on the 4300 block of Industrial Street for a possible trespass, this after a witness reported some suspicious activity.
When police arrived they found freshly painted graffiti on a nearby train car. Underneath the train car they found Solomon Sahlein, 19, of Boise, and a black bag with cans of spray paint and alcohol.
Sahlein was booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of felony malicious injury to property, illegal possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct. More charges could be pending.
The owner of the train car estimates the damage at $2,000.
Investigators are looking into several graffiti incidents in Boise neighborhoods and say Sahlein is a suspect in those crimes. Police also believe he may be an associate of a group of taggers arrested in Boise last December.
